Welcome!
We are The Valley Fish and Game Club, located in the middle of
the beautiful Cowichan Valley of Vancouver Island, British Columbia,
Canada, an organization of hunters, anglers, and recreational shooters
whose goal is to protect the rights, heritage, and traditions of our
members. We are an established advocacy group that promotes and endorses
the wise use of our common fish and wildlife resources. Our goal is to
ensure that fish and wildlife stocks and their habitats are managed in a
manner that allows for a harvestable surplus for the benefit of present
and future generations.
Our club has a wonderful
clubhouse and grounds, our own
shooting ranges and a lot of fun and
exciting
activities for
all ages.
If you feel like
you belong with us and believe in what we stand for, please consider
coming and visit us at one of our
events to see for yourself what we are
all about or
enquire here about membership.
From us all,

VF&G Club Covid-19 Action Plan
(Required by the government)
At this point in time, due to the unique circumstances of
the size of our property and the number of ranges we have, we are able
to keep our facilities open with a few restrictions:
·
Members are required to maintain two-meter physical
distancing at all times.
·
Although the clubhouse may be open at an event, please
limit your time inside to only what is needed, ie sign in or ticket
purchase at a shoot.
·
Shotgun ranges shall each be limited to groups of 5
people, or family members.
·
The use of each Trap field shall be limited to 5 or less
shooters. Shooters must be separated by the distance between the
stations, and the trap puller is to maintain a two-meter distance from
the shooters at all times.
·
In the case of the Rifle-Pistol range, every firing
station has been numbered. Only even OR odd numbered benches may be in
use at the same time. Only 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 may fire at the same
time. In addition, people should avoid any collective gathering of
individuals at a firing point, other than the persons in your immediate
group.
·
Physical distancing should be practiced if you are not
family members.
·
Guests of members (i.e. those without a PAL) need to be
safely supervised. Family members can accompany members and be
instructed on the range, but instruction and introduction of shooting to
a new shooter (not directly related to the member) is not permitted due
to the distancing requirements.
·
People who are not family members, who drive to the range
in separate cars, are required to comply with the physical distancing
requirement.
·
All members are encouraged to follow “the basics”
including:
· Staying
off VFGC property if you, or anyone you know, are at risk, or have any
symptoms of cough, cold, flu, or any of the symptoms of COVID-19
· If
you do come to the Range Property, please bring hand sanitizer as part
of your ‘kit’ for the day.
· Maintaining
good hand hygiene;
· Avoiding
touching one’s eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands;
· Practicing
respiratory etiquette (such as coughing into your sleeve); and keeping
appropriate physical distance.
·
You will be required to sign in as normal plus indicate
that you understand the club’s action plan as required by the
government.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely, and
keep you updated to changes to the clubs Covid19 action plan as required
by the government.
